I'm thinking about doing a long walk this summer in Europe, alternated with trips by public transport to historic cities close to the route. Such a trip would mean many weeks of travel pictures, local history, some nature observations, and hiking stories for this newsletter.
Great interview - how annoying that they didn't stick to what they said they were gonna ask you about. I loved what you said about doing nothing being the worst thing we can do. Also true in other or all aspects of life.
What a picture! Would love some snow here. Hope you're staying warm. Off on a longish walk myself. It's 11 degrees and sunny today. Would love to hear/read about a long walk in Europe, but I also love your island stories. Long walk is definitely not a bad idea in my opinion. Just be careful if you happen to walk in Switzerland - you wouldn't want to be the second Dutchman within a year to have the police called on him. We're weird that way.
Love the winter photo in black and white, beautiful contrast.
And your interviews are always excellent. You are an essential voice for climate especially as the crisis deepens daily.
You have wonderful options as we dream of the warm, sunny summer months ahead. Whatever you choose is sure to be interesting and eagerly welcomed with your journals, photos and the history you share.
I look forward to whatever your plans hold and will surely love the new adventures just as last summer’s Island Stories. Volume 2 wouldn’t be a disappointment at all.
There are still lots of stories to tell about the island. I will at least spend some time on the island to write about it this summer, combined with some more travel in and around Europe.
2. Great interview, and I appreciate that you asserted that we CAN do something, we know what to do, we have the technology, and that Earth CAN heal. It's a matter of political will and corporate self-interests—those who prioritize profits above life. I will share the video.
3. As for the walk, that sounds amazing! As long as you protect your health and make sure that you always have a safe place to stay each night, I think it can be life-changing in so many positive ways. (I want to walk the Camino!)
I vote for the summer walk in Europe, so diverse from north to south and look forward to your beautiful pictures.
Thank you, I will think about it some more and keep everyone posted via the newsletter

Haha, I remember the Tom Boerman story in Switzerland. Glad you liked the interview
Great broadcast from TRT World. I will listening to your Podcast tomorrow afternoon . . .
And I hope you will take that long, long walk through Europe 🚶♂️I'm sure you won't be alone (-:
Thanks, still working on my plans for the summer but, like last summer, I will share a lot in this newsletter.
