Glad you are vaccinated. Seems so strange that here in the US so many are opting out to get the vaccine. The misinformation spread by social media has really made an impact on vaccination efforts.
Many here recognize the importance of action on climate change. The difficulty comes getting legislators to do something about it. Seems local governments are doing more than the federal one. One hopes this will change. Love the photo📸
The speed at which everything is changing, including the climate, makes me worry about the ability of democratic structures to act and compete, especially in the very divided countries like the U.S. I know this is top of mind for Biden. The compromises and incrementalism so bind bold action. I hope that multilateralism will bring the right incentives and pressures to tip the scales for equity and the greatest good, and help the U.S. and others overcome political challenges. As a U.S. citizen, I’ve really longed for the voices of outside strong leadership to help right our course and diminish our evils, giving historical perspective to the nonsense.
I share your worry about democratic systems not being able to cope fast and efficiently with a challenge like climate change, but as Churchill said already a very long time ago, I can't think of a better system. America's brief try to solve problems by Trumpism has proved to be an epic failure, and nor do I see any more autocratic regime offer better solutions. This is the ultimate 'tragedy of the commons' problem and whether we like it or not, we have to work with all countries, especially the top-20 emitters, to solve this. Climate won't wait for us.
Alexander I am glad to hear of your vaccination. Advocates like yourself are crucial in guiding us forward in address of this global warming crisis. As a parent and grandparent I found my commitment in doing all I can on behalf of future generations. I am so impressed by the strength, courage and smarts of many young in fighting for their lives and future on the planet. Parents of the young, and governments of us all, must have their back.
A thoughtful article today. There’s so much to consider here but, be it a pandemic or the climate crisis, wise, competent & truthful governance affects everything. The most important decisions most of us make is putting the best people in positions of power. That cannot be overstated.
Thank you always for your excellent perspectives. And thank you for that beautiful tree!
Good morning, I'm wondering and hope you do not mind me asking.
Have you every counted how many vaccines you have received as a world traveler? Pre Covid.
Something to think about is that there are countries one can not enter without following their strict vaccine protocol today. Also thinking about the migrants that flee their countries in droves (perhaps) not vaccinated?
I's nice to see the greening again, a daily sign of healthy growth. Hopefully a pending hailstorm won't knock-off these otherwise happy leaves. 🌿🌱

Thank you, and yes, we need all levels of government since they have different roles to play on climate action
Enjoy the coming freedom of full vaccination. Feels great here!

I love democracy and hope we can rise to the challenge.

Yes, I agree. It is their future, these are our kids, supporting them is the most logical thing that is expected of us as parents and grandparents

Very happy to know you’re getting vaccinated!
All trees are now at their best, the streets and forests are so colorful now. A beautiful sight.

I never counted them but I am about midway in my third ‘yellow vaccination book’
Have you read "Mission Economy" by Mariana Mazzucato? She speaks to some of these issues.
Thank you, I will look it up.
Beautiful photo, and congrats & good luck on the vaccine!
Thank you, the photo doesn’t let you hear the sounds of the birds and squirrels. I should do a video next time.
