A wonderful article AND an Alexnote, a red letter day!

The sketch is beautiful, so very happy to see them again. I’ve always loved them and hope the few recents ones are signs of more to come.

The text is great! Very interesting, a fine history of this beautiful landmark. What a stir it must have caused at its opening. And a tragic fate for the man whose dream it fulfilled. Even in death he made history, one of so many who perished on the Titanic. Unfortunate that his legacy was tarnished by scandal.

The Rideau Canal itself has quite a history. As one who has a strong association and appreciation of water, it’s nice you are now close to it. Your photos often feature scenes of water - rivers, lakes, canals, ponds and, of course, your beloved North Sea. Always beautiful!

The cute painted rock was a nice find. I really enjoyed this one, thanks!

It’s fascinating to learn a story about another Titanic passenger…how many lives were affected by a single event. A lovely sketch and a bright colorful stone (I would interpret that as a good omen!!)

Glad I re-read this today. Missed a few things on the first read. Beautifully written and there's so much in this. You find the most interesting stories to tell. Thank you for that.

Saw that you said you'll do more Alexnotes in the summer. Yay! Such a bonus to get one of those again.

I thought I was the only one taking pictures of rocks - this one is especially cute. Made me smile.
