In Belgiรซ en Nederland is het al een maand prachtig lenteweer. Zondag naar Burgh haamstede geweest. Was net zomer. Volle terrassen. Strand vol zonnekloppers.

PS The flower looks like some sort of Dahlia, but I am not certain.

Hi Alex, We are in the same state as you in Traverse City, so I can very much appreciate the longing for Spring to truly settle in. We have had a few teasers, but then the snow and cold returns (as it did all day yesterday). Sorry, but I guess it is heading your way now.

I did see my first snowdrops and crocus on my walk yesterday, and our hyacinths are about to bloom, so that's a start. The birds and wood frogs, however, are already in full Spring mode. Frogs are chorusing (more like quacking in the case of wood frogs) in many ponds, and the flocks of redpolls, pine siskins, goldfinches and chickadees are emptying my feeders on a daily basis. I guess that's not a surprise as the arrival of their normal Spring fare is delayed.

Spring is still coming, so like a proton, I remain positive. All the best to the family, Mike

Hi Mike, thank you. Like you I also enjoy the birds. Every year, I appreciate them starting that spring feeling long before there is any flower or new colours to celebrate. But they wake me up with their songs and that is the first indication that the prolonged winter will indeed end. All the best to your family! Alexander

Iโ€™m glad you had a chance to enjoy these lovely flowers and a bit of beautiful Spring before wintry weather crashed the scene with a rude return. They are gorgeous! Like you, I wait anxiously for the first signs of my favorite season and the early blooms are like little gifts.

It would be a disappointment to have this special season abbreviated. It should always be longer rather than shortened.

I hope this wintry blast is brief and you can soon enjoy the beauty of rebirth. This is a wonderful article and your photos are delightful. Thank you!

Alex, you were so fortunate to see the early spring flowers (prior to the forecasted rain and snow). On social media, a person I interact with regularly was delighted to find the first colorful spring flowers in Sicily. In the midst of these unpredictable turbulent times, for me itโ€™s essential to stop and absorb the beautiful delights & wonders we each have in our lives. For me, I was thrilled to find my twitter post of a photo of Zelenskyy, his wife & children with my wish they are blessed & protected, liked by Olena Zelenska herself. Amidst their war and my own problems, that was a moment of grace & gratitude.

PS thereโ€™s an idea for armchair travel; the Museum in Paris, expect there are many to visit and Iโ€™ve never had the pleasure. Another day.....๐Ÿ˜‰

So pleased you attached this one; had not yet seen it from 2022. Love the Monet especially; so sorry the windmill was moved to another location. The wildflowers are a bit like here in SC; an announcement short lived that Spring is on its way.

Spring is a great season. Sorry to hear it's so short in Canada. Thank you for sharing all those flower pictures. No idea what that last one is, but I think some people on Twitter figured it out - or it at least sounded like they did.

I went to the "Monet's immersive garden" exhibit in Zurich this morning. What a great experience. Loved all the colors, flowers, reflections. There was a section with windmills, but I'm not sure this exact painting was featured.

Here's hoping that proper spring will arrive soon and that the snow storm was not too bad.

Thank you Evelyne, I looked much more like spring today. Monet also painted windmills near Zaandam: still a beautiful area to visit. Google for: Zaanse Schans to get an impression

Hi Alex, thanks for your article . It sounds as if you experience the real Canadian rough winters .. but spring and summer are also coming to that wilderness.. even though climate change is real !

What a beautiful flower you photographed . Itโ€™s color is delicate and I hope youโ€™ll tel us more about it. I saw it for the first time in your newsletter so I donโ€™t know about it ! Other than itโ€™s a spring sign ! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Thank you, Aida, I still have to find out what flower it really is. I saw some suggestions coming in on Twitter as well.

I meant the flower Mike wrote it was a Dahlia, very beautiful. Does it have a perfume ?
