The Planet newsletter supports the #RestoreNature petition to the European Commission: Only through meaningful, transformative change at land and sea can we bring back the biodiversity we desperately need. It will help us mitigate and adapt to the climate crisis and prevent the future spread of diseases. You may also want to support the call, coordinated by Only One, on President Biden to take eight actions for the ocean.
Glad for your information on those important petitions. Just finished viewing David Attenboroughβs video presentation on extinction of the biodiversity of this planet. It is time for politicians to wake up and realize this is a dire situation and we can no longer ignore it.
I certainly love your notes, photos, and sketches. However, I also like to hear about actions we can take to help this lovely blue marble on which we live. Thanks for sharing those petitions, signed and shared.
Thank you for the opportunity to support the #RestoreNature initiative as well as the Only One platform to President Biden. Both are extremely important. I never miss a chance to sign petitions of this sort. If we donβt do everything we can to protect our planet, who will? Public pressure to those with power is fruitful.
Although you donβt intend The Planet to be an activist platform, I have absolutely no objection to you bringing these vital initiatives to the forefront. I would likely have been unaware of the #RestoreNature project.
Thank you again for spreading awareness & for another valuable newsletter!
It's a sunny Saturday morning! I have signed on with both, #Restorenature, to restore Nature in Europe, and with Only One, to restore marine life and protecting the ocean from now on! A conscious effort not to mess with Nature landscapes and Ocean realms . . .
Raising awareness without taking action is like loving a child or pet; but not feeding it.
Offering opportunities for activism are critically important; otherwise - it's just like white bread;
The Planet will be soft and comforting, but devoid of life-supporting nutrients required to keep us alive! Keep up the good work and thank you for your heart-felt efforts ~ : )
Thanks for drawing my attention to the #RestoreNature campaign. Definitely something I want to support. They now (at 12.12 pm CET) have 95,126 signatures. I wish I had some before and after pictures like the ones you shared of the restoration work along the river Aare. It's pretty amazing what can be done. And it is so worth it. One of my favorite bike routes takes me along the restored part of the river. There are so many birds and beavers now - it's great.
Who are those people who don't read your newsletter to the end? Certainly not me.
