Perfect allegory fruit flies fighting for resources. It could be a dire reminder that it could happen to humans also. Glad the oil companies are finally going to take some responsibility for climate change. However, itās not just climate change they need to take full responsibility for but also the damage they have done with oil spills and pollution such as Chevron in the Amazon. Letās hope for a better future.
Love the good news & love this article. As always written with a dash of style & spirit that adds an even brighter smile to this extremely encouraging news.
The courts & financial institutions are the catalysts for powerful action in meaningful climate initiatives. Legal restrictions & cutting off the money sources hit fossil fuel companies hardest. Now itās up to governments to follow through with their own use of power.
We can do this! With the committed backing of the giants of government, finance & the legal system we really can do this! Now itās up to individuals to add their awareness & personal changes. Itās time for everyone to feel energized & hopeful! I do! šæ

Haha. No I was āinnocentā in not letting them escape, and therefore responsible for the deaths of hundreds of flies in my bottle. I learned a lot from the act of my classmate. Donāt just follow, take your own responsibility.
When investors are willing to take a calculated risk that policymakers aren't, it's a sad commentary on political leadership and accountability. Is it that policymakers haven't connected the dots or do they believe that voters don't care? I see a long overdue paradigm shift led by the courageous!
I really enjoyed reading this at dinner. Aww..Poor fruit flies!! But excellent lesson. Yes, good day for vour planet. But we have a long way to go. Thank you for writing and sharing.
It really does sound like the beginning of structural change. Let's hope it really is and good for the Dutch to be leading the world in this. Love your fruit fly story. Never thought of it like that ... I mean them being in a bottle and in the end fighting for the last resources. We need to make sure our planet survives, because as you said - there's no planet B. Thanks for this summary of stories on the topic.
(And I see somebody else already asked if you were the person releasing the fruit flies ;-))
