Such a nice writing with a history lesson from the Ottawa vantage point. How powerful the water must be at this spot with three might rivers meeting! The photos are wonderful.

It’s a sad truth that each day’s news reminds us ‘humanity has drifted from fundamental values like compassion, solidarity, and respect for each other that are common to all religions’ as three major religious celebrations occur simultaneously. I hope each will reflect on the significance and find spiritual commonality. Enjoy a beautiful day. 🐰🪺🐣🌷

Thank you, Alexander. This is a fine read just before going to bed. Now I can dream of floating down these vast rivers, hopefully without the challenges of waterfalls, those would wake me up for sure. Canada is beautiful (-:

A lovely story, Alexander! In a world that is full of bad news your letters bring balance by pointing out the goodness that still exists. Thank you for that! ❤️🙏🏼❤️

What a treat to arrive in my inbox at 5am on Easter Sunday. Thank you.

I was actually wondering just yesterday if Easter, Passover and Ramadan coinciding was a rare event as I don't seem to remember the last time this happened. Meant to google it.

What I love about your newsletter is that I learn new things and that you make me google things I think I know before I put them in a reply. Today I check on the history of my home canton (that's Swiss for a state/province). We have three waves in our flag signifying three rivers. They converge not far from where I live in a beautiful area for walking. The Aare then flows into the Rhine or technically the Rhine into the Aare (she had 50% more water at that point, but we're not bitter at all about the river being called the Rhine - not at all). I did not know that Ottawa also has three rives converging. Timber rafts were also used on the Rhine. I'm currently walking along is. Fascinating history and many stories to be written. If I ever calm down enough to write them.

Thank you for this history lesson and for making me check about my own area. What a fun thing to do at 5am on Easter Sunday! Loving your pictures - they inspired me to go walking along the Rhine again today. This was not planned, but I'm typing this on the train as we drive along the river Limmat (one of the three rivers I mentioned above). Thank you for the inspiration.

Water is such an important resource. We should all remember that and protect it. And just be kind to ourselves and each other. Happy Easter!
