The picture... beautiful as always. I'm sure that after writing about 9/11 you needed that walk. I know I could have used a walk. I sometimes avoid the documentaries and news of that day. It was a day that effected me immensely. It effects the world. But I was grateful you asked about that day. Thank you for allowing us to share.

As for the person that complained about paying for the subscription... I'm sorry but a cup of coffee can cost more and can only last for short period of time. While paying for this subscription is well worth it! The wealth of knowledge and the amazing pictures you share is priceless.

Keep writing when you can. As always Thank you for taking time out to write and share with us all.

Enjoy your day.

Thoughtful and perfect are the words of your writing, today. An example of integrity that defines your personal and professional conduct.

As for the criticisms, they are part of our failures as humans: we hardly give the benefit of the doubt unless our interests and convictions are inherently and perfectly connected...However, these criticisms allow us, mostly, to reaffirm the value of our attitudes and goals. Furthermore, respect is essential and an opinion is not a fact.

Thank you for being on that side.

New York's linguistic diversity is something that comes up a lot in conversations with friends. As a country Switzerland is linguistic divers, but nothing like those 600 languages. Thank you for mentioning that and adding that link too.

Also, why would you not have those buttons on a 9-11 story? You're not asking people to pay for that one story, but to support your writing in general. And people really should.

Your writings of both yesterday & today were commiserative & insightful for the raw emotions this unspeakable tragedy revived. The anniversary compelled us all to recall the horrors of that day & those that followed. Your sensitivity is evident in your own recollections & your need to seek solace in nature at day’s end is understandable. I felt the same.

Grief & sadness take a physical & mental toll.

The addendum you added on Twitter stating how your post originated was discreet & gracious as was the subscription notation. Anyone who perceived it differently should re-think their words. The time & effort you expend in creating & publishing The Planet is deserving of far more than the meager cost of a subscription. Thank you for all you do.

I’m happy to hear you had so many responses to your very thoughtful 9/11 article. You deserve to be compensated for your excellent writing. I greatly appreciate no ads to disrupt my reading and thinking of your thoughts each day.
