After more than five weeks of non-stop writing, I tried something else for today: while walking in a forest near Ottawa, I stopped for speaking a short message on my iPhone. You find it in this four-and-a-half-minute video, and it is followed by just a few pictures and video shots. One is of an eastern ribbon snake. A species that has in Ontario the status of βspecial concern.β But it may just as well have been one of a few types of garter snakes. The best way to distinguish them is to check for a small white crescent in front of the eye. That was hard to see from my position, especially since I had the impression that both of us were not too eager to get better acquainted.
I would love to hear if you would like a video like this once in a while or prefer me to strictly focus on the writing.
I wish you all a beautiful Sunday.

I like these type of presentations. They remind me of home and the hours I spent as a kid tromping through the fields, lots, rivers. I especially liked the one you did a couple years back where you were walking through the Dutch Mountains.
Loved the sounds of the birds in the video. Their calls are some that I hear too in my yard. Yes, nature is important especially for city dwellers. An occasional video is nice but I do prefer your articles with photos interspersed. Looking forward to your next one.
