All those beautiful, hopeful blooms The US has decided listening to S-G Guterres is unnecessary. Tragic error. So, looking toward the lovely blooms and the peacocks ๐ป
It's still more than three months before the first bulbs pop up on the island, but unlike life in Ottawa there is always the occasional blooming flower here in winter, I posted a blooming rose from my garden last January. So stay tuned.
On the news I heard a report that my country ๐จ๐ญ fell in a European made ranking on place 33 ! while Denmark ๐ฉ๐ฐ was 4th and the Netherlands ๐ณ๐ฑ ranked 5th for the measures taken to remediate climate change.
And in 2015 the leaders here had decided measures for 2025, next year. Now these are postponed to 2050.
So I didnโt think deciders here gave any reasons for optimism and hope.
It's a pity. A poor country in the global south can be excused for not being able to finance climate action, or for lacking the organizational capacity or know how. None of these reasons apply to Switzerland. In the Netherlands we were rather late to join in on climate action, but caught up during previous governments.

How is that possible?
