Great article! Tragic new information about Greenland’s ice loss and brilliant explanation about the AMOC. I wasn’t aware of how this affects the water temperatures as far as the North Sea. It seems your refreshing swims may be less comfortable in the future.

As discussed in a recent article, misinformation and disinformation are dastardly obstacles that undermine facts and scientific knowledge and research. It’s a travesty that Professor Michael E. Mann has been maligned so viciously for his excellent work. His fight is also our fight and I feel confident in a successful outcome for this extraordinary climate soldier.

“And drawing conclusions about the 'hoax' of climate change because of the limited growth of one glacier isn't science and isn't helpful to making this planet great again.” is a perfect ending to this exceptional article. Thank you!

We are all connected, everything, to our benefit or detriment. Continuing to care. Good luck, Mr. Mann. We're with you.

yes, winning this lawsuit is important for so many reasons. Most of all to make clear to everyone that there are limits set in the law and that you can't just ignore these without legal consequences.

Not an easy read for a Friday morning off. That picture is just insane but I prefer this visualisation to the one with the swimming pools.

I'm working on something on truth, opinion, experience, facts and lies. It's just so infuriating!

I rewatched "The Day after Tomorrow" a few weeks ago and the science has been there for decades. Even in Hollywood movies. The AMOC is one of the main topics. And as you said also one of the reasons coastal Norway has relatively mild winters. I was lucky enough to experience winter in Northern Norway in early 2020. Can't believe we're destroying it all.

A very well written piece. Thank you!

yes the destruction of nature as we know it is so sad. Everyone will notice its speed in their lifetimes but with every new life, a new baseline is set. When I grew up, I never expected to see a dodo, the next generation will never expect to see a Northern White Rhino; their baseline is a world without a lot of the beauty that I still took for granted when I grew up. The hundreds of butterflies in my parents garden come to mind.

Good morning, Evelyne! I was very interested in the Hollywood call to action film, “The Day After Tomorrow” as well. Film makers do educate us whether we are aware or not. To you and Alex, don’t give up on sleepy Joe as we are fighting for our Democracy with all we’ve got in America 🇺🇸 and I am hopeful we will prevail. Of course, the obstructionism in the MAGA HOUSE is deplorable but will be dealt with in election 2024 if not sooner. I will not lose hope until all the votes are cast. Biden is a good president, slippery on climate, but I believe that is compromise on his part and he will escalate the fight when he has more backing in governance. Positivity is essential for survival. 😘

Yes we need hope, and positivity, and votes for Biden (they are the price to pay for a two-party democracy, there are only two flavors, if one is too bitter for comfort, pick the other one. Not voting is half a vote for fascism.
