A perfect homecoming.

Satisfying oneself that all is in its proper place as it should be. There’s solace and comfort in that knowledge when so many places on our planet can’t feel the same contentment and satisfaction.

Being back on the island where your heart finds it’s peaceful North Star wherever else you may roam surely centers you for anything that lies ahead. As we watch devastating tragedy consume another paradise in another part of the world, treasure your own paradise while you can.

I’m certain these special places welcomed you back with open arms.

I love you being in this beautiful place and the heart pond will always be special. Thank you for confirming it and the others are still there.

So glad the dunes are still there. Looks heavenly. Those trees and that lake are just lovely. Thanks for taking us along.

I agree with what you write in todays newsletter : “Gone are the days when the climate crisis was only a concern for the poor in the poorest countries; now, no country is left for us to sit it out and forget about it. May I suggest, again and as so often before, that the hour is ripe for resolute climate action?”

And dreadful events as fires and floods all over the world are definitely inviting us if not pushing for various actions at home, in the shops, at work, everywhere and to discuss the possibilities we have for new ways to do.

The universe recognizes those that care. The dunes, heart pond, greenery, birds were glad to see you. Any ponies?

I am encouraged by the young people. They have the passion and drive to disrupt board meetings and sit on state house floors. We must help them.

The door step. The scent of familiar things. Rewrite colors, shapes, sounds. Savoring moments, thoughts. Opening the wings over lakes and dunes.

Welcome to your island far from the Mediterranean.

Your habit of inspecting your home to be sure it is still as you remember is lovely. I am happy for you that it is so after so long away, more so after your long winters in Canada. My very modest house in SC after 22 years is still not my home in my mind’s eye. There’s a feeling of belonging that you experience in the Netherlands but I’ve never “moved” my head from my home in AL that I adored. It was more upscale and safer because it was an apartment in a large complex in an idyllic setting I will never forget. The advantage of a more costly and surely poor investment over time is the maintenance provided by a phone call to management; and in today’s world, the repair immediately of downed infrastructure from storms, power and WiFi. Having been without both for the 48 hours I lost, I was becoming agitated indeed as my mobility issues require dependable communication. I am not able to get in the car and shelter elsewhere even when warnings are issued as is becoming more commonplace. The schedule for repairs when 60,000 people are affected find me at the bottom of the heap for attention. Must do all emergency services first, OK, hospitals, etc. and businesses ie groceries. The larger the number of people affected the sooner attention is given as in my idyllic apartment. My “node” now is exactly six homes with a utility pole in my backyard. That is the bottom of the totem pole. And the last to be repaired. I suppose this wide triangle from top to bottom makes sense for utility providers but they make no exception for medical need at all. When I moved in here my situation was not compromised at all, had never been in better health. But todays weather patterns find me along a line of storms (tornados) that typically move across the SE from AL, across GA and then to me in SC. But here I will be unable financially to relocate snuggling my family of three fur babies still. Without a safe space in this poorly designed house with few windows, dark on sunny days. We wait without doing any useless prep for the inevitable hit that will come through the patio windows one day and end us all. I’m really tired of weather, climate, the end coming courtesy of the GOP PLAN 2025 which if they regain power will eliminate all climate actions taken during the Biden administration and before. It’s too expensive you see except for the corrupt who line their pockets with 💰💰💰the 99% wealthy compared to the real middle to lower classes (many homeless) the 1% , the real people.

ENOUGH; ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT; time to be active on line and fight for our planet 🌎 with my words as you do so well. It is useful to have purpose so I move forward in this journey of life day by day for the 🌎 and my adorable needy fur kids. 😘🐶😽😽. I will not abandon any of the above nor despair but live in HOPE. 🕊️

Yes, definitely Alex! You have given a lot of yourself for several years... perhaps it is also time to recharge your batteries, to recover energy in your region where your roots are! I admire all your energetic, grounded and sincere commitments that you have made for so long!

Take the time to “root” yourself deeply at home!

Bravo for all your steps, your "advocacy" against the climate crisis, your pedagogy which for many has considerably raised awareness and given arguments and serious lines of thought.

Thanks much for all that !
