I was briefly in paradise, where I took my best photo of the week for you
Join me for a moment to enjoy a beautiful sunset
When I arrived back at the island where my ancestors lived some 300 years ago, I wrote in this newsletter that this is my little corner of the planet where I feel most at home. Yesterday evening, I had walked for hours before I took this picture. For me, the world can't get more beautiful than this.
Although it was during sunset, you are not watching the sun setting. Instead, the light you see just above the horizon is the lighthouse in the island's northwest corner.
I plan from now on to use Wednesdays for sending a picture, without much text, perhaps just a few lines describing what I saw or why I'm sharing it. So let's call it the 'Wednesday Picture' (but suggestions for something more original are welcome).
Have a beautiful Wednesday, and look around for the beauty, big or small, that you will see today; it is all part of this beautiful planet. But many things you have taken for granted for most of your life may change in the lifetime of your children, from butterflies to jellyfish in the ocean (fewer butterflies and more jellyfish, which I consider a lousy deal, more on those jellyfish soon).
It's a precious small planet. Handle with care!

So glad you took a moment to share this. Life is a connection of these “snapshots” of our experience. :-)
Thank you for sharing your moment in paradise with us. This is a stunning picture. Must have been a great moment.
