Thank goodness there will be no drilling in the Arctic. I’ve signed so many petitions and sent emails to legislators to block it. Until our legislators realize that fossil fuels are a large part of climate change not much will happen to change our dependence on them. Loved your deer photo. Here on Eastern LI we have lots of them, perhaps too many.
An excellent article with much hope for stronger action on climate change. A pity it’s taken so long for the world to understand the dire situation & begin to act. Having NATO onboard is a big step.
The Biden administration has been criticized for slow actions & some questionable decisions but so much improvement in these 5 months. Plus with so many things to reverse from the past four years, it can’t all happen at once. Of course, time is the issue. So very much has been lost. At this point every decision & action has maximum stimulus. I’m hopeful. The news of last week from The Netherlands & the ouster of the Exxon pawns was very good indeed!
Thank you for sharing all this important information & for all your invaluable work often done behind the scenes. You are a tremendous asset to climate change & protecting our world.
Yes, definitely enter the photo of the sparring deer in the photo contest! It’s magnificent! I can only imagine how thrilling it was to witness this incredible sight!
Nice to hear. It is more than 100 pages, but the summary in the beginning and Jamie Shea's excellent introduction are good starting points if you can't read all of it.
COP 26 is in November, but the NATO summit is in two weeks, on June 14. I love the picture of those deers, it also reminds me of the long cold winter in Ottawa, which is hard to imagine on a beautiful summer day like today

I downloaded the report of the North-Atlantic Civil-Society Working-Group on Environment and Security (NCWES) a pdf file, for more readings today (-:

Very nice post Alexander. I'm excited about GOP 26 in Glasgow, in two more weeks.
I think your Deer jousting photo leans more to the 'Wild side" (-:
