I am glad that the peoples are getting over the bad rap they gave to the Tasmanian devil. Extinction would have been next. Thank you for the example here of how much influence peoples have over their environs. Lets' not destroy, but give it the biggest embrace we can muster up, with courage and foresight.
What a nice video of the Tasmanian devil release.
The Koala Alexnote is the darling of AlexNotes. The Koala must be guarded from extinction also .

About 'Capture the Wild' photo challenge, I'm on high alert for a Bear photo. Early this morning the Bear knocked down the neighbor's garbage cans in the alley. Yesterday morning a friend send me photos of a Bear in his yard from quite deep into town. Many roads(and properties) to cross to get to that yard from the Mountains. Wondering what the Bear is looking for at this time, because food is abundant now. Mars Chocolate bar rappers?
I love that bear story in Boulder. It is nice to see that you and others still refer to those alexnotes. One of the problems was that people couldn't read them on Twitter. And I have the impression that this one on the koala was perhaps also difficult to read. Perhaps I should type out the texts instead of inserting them in the picture?
Never had any problems reading the text on the pictures using a laptop (15inch). Not sure about an iPhone or other device. There are many useful image readers that are helpful, with enlargement features . . . and reading them. On or off Twitter was never a problem for me, just click through on the image for enlargement if needed. The Koala picture is an easy read (-:
I love the video about the Tasmanian devils! It’s so interesting that a predator being reintroduced helps the entire ecosystem. I think a similar thing happened out West in the US when wolves were reintroduced.
I also thought about that story when I read about the Tasmanian devils. You have probably seen it, but this five-minute video about the reintroduction of gray wolves in Yellowstone is wonderful: https://www.nationalgeographic.org/media/wolves-yellowstone/
Thanks for sharing the video of the Tasmanian Devils. Anything that can be done to save a creature from extinction is gratifying. Hope that Koalas are also saved. Those wildfires certainly didn’t help in their survival.
Always love your Akexnotes. They are entertaining and informative. Pictures of animals in their native habitat sounds like a great contest. Luna would make an interesting addition to that contest. Enjoy your weekend.
Thank you, Lilly, I might make some of those alexnotes again. Making one every day was fun for a year but I can't keep doing that. But expect a few more from the Netherlands this summer.
Love your Luna in the wild picture. Thank you for sharing that Aussie Ark video. I'd heard about the project, but not followed up on their progress. How exciting that the Tasmanian Devil is back on the mainland. I had no idea they were born at only 3 weeks at that tiny size and then spent another 100 days in the pouch, but then again I don't know that much about marsupials. Always been fascinated by the Tasmanian Devil though - I saw a documentary about them about 35 years ago, I think.
I remember your koala Alexnote well. Your bear names make perfect sense to me. It was a sweet and sad note at the same time. I still hope that the koala population in Australia can somehow recover.
I might enter that photo contest if I can catch something good within the next couple of weeks. I’d love to get a beaver on camera. I might just go look for one right now. Thanks for this interesting newsletter. Will also read up on the bees – those might also be a good wildlife picture choice. Better bring my DSLR then. Have a great weekend.

I look forward to seeing them. I realize they do take a fair amount of time to do and with your new venture time is limited.

Thank you, I would love to see the beaver picture win!
