Exciting! Love the short tour and the great three photographs. I've read about the Blue-Zone countries. The US is so far behind the rest of the world. Enjoy and look forward to the next sharing!
I always wondered the same thing. But Norway has been a rather poor country in the past and it was only after striking oil in 1969 that the country suddenly became rich. Scandinavian countries have experienced a lot of hardship in their histories.
That painting is the only one I ever specifically went to a museum to see. I sat down in front of it for quite some time. The new museum looks stunning (from the outside).
Beautiful, healthy venue for living well. Suspect you are pleased to leave the poor air quality after fires in Ottawa behind. The comparison to Las Vegas I’ll take with humor. The best thing they’ve had for a while was Celine Dion’s residency. Looking forward to whatever you choose to share. Is Luna with you? Just had to ask!
📜 Thank you Alexander, for the intro of Oslo city. I like the thought of living equally. ( Gezellig) Good for the pursuit of living long . . .
US's longevity rating has gone down a notch (Not so gezellig). So, if anyone is interested in how the rest of the World is doing, here is a link: worldometer
Fantastic. And once conversant with Oslo and its surroundings, please venture out and experience more of the country! The train from Oslo to Bergen with stops in the mountains and in Flåm is magical. They used to call the tour Norway in a Nutshell. The Lofoten Islands are also spectacular! Have fun and enjoy the spectacular Norwegian lifestyle.
Thanks, Mike, I look forward to explore it all! The photos I’ve seen are so spectacular and I have good memories of a trip to the Stavanger area some 25 years ago.
I look forward to reading more about your life in Norway. I recognize two of the places in your pictures. Back to edit that I just realized where the third one is. Enjoy exploring this wonderful place.
Yes, in many ways it is the opposite. I was briefly in Las Vegas again last April. Just because I couldn’t find a hotel near the Hoover Dam. So I spent a few hours on The Strip. I mainly remember fat tourists transported on a rolling carpet over a fake Rialto bridge. The slight incline was too much for them to walk it. The next morning I drove into the beautiful desert again.
How exciting!
Anxious to hear and see more.
There’s so much more to share; stay tuned!
👌will do
Great story as an introduction to this new habitat. Wishing you and yours all the best in this Nordic capital and looking forward for more. Enjoy!
Thank you, Ricardo. So happy to be here!
New places, new adventures!
I look forward to it all. Thank you.
Thanks Lucy!

Thank you Rena. Substack doesn’t allow too many photos; I’ll likely soon post some on Patreon.
Oslo looks beautiful and seems a splendid place to call home at least for a while.
Enjoy all it has to offer.
I will. The weather helped to welcome me here; the city is so much alive.
Oh, Alex, what a great introduction to Oslo (and
Norway) for those who’ve never been‼️It certainly is very different from your Camino walks…
(Norway is so lovely and the people so happy and welcoming. I can’t imagine what Edvard Munch [sp.?] was “screaming” about)!

I'm sure we'll read about Edvard Munch's Scream soon. They built a brandnew museum since I was last there 😊.
I passed the new museum on my walks. Many years ago, I saw two of the four versions of the scream on an early visit to Oslo.
The new museum IS stunning. both inside and out!
I’m looking forward to visit it!

Just as Guernica drew me to the Reina Sofia

Thanks Marian, it seems I live in a good part of the world, second to well-developed parts of east Asia.

I am laughing at the contrast between Oslo and Vegas! :) Las Vegas is called "Sin City" for many reasons—yes, the polar opposite of Oslo life!

Vegas, for me, is hell. I only go when a conference is held there that I can't avoid!
