The long winter in Ottawa finally ends when I see my first flower, and therefore I was excited this week when I did find the first snowdrops. Like so many inhabitants in North America, these lovely small white flowers are also immigrants. These small bulbs are native to Europe and the Middle East, a vast region from the Pyrenees to the Caucasus and Iran.
Spring is the harbinger of new beginnings. How wonderful that Snowdrops, so beautiful in their simplicity, were the first to burst forth! β€οΈππΌβ€οΈ
How cool that you joined a walking group! Snowdrops are so pretty. I love their Dutch name. Very similar to Swiss German "SchneeglΓΆggli" - we do love our diminutives. I remember that Alexnote π.
202 km long waterway. Sounds like a walking project π. Sorry, that's just where my mind went as I'm currently doing a 190 km walk from Lake Constance to Basel.
Love the pictures and video. Glad that spring has finally arrived in Ottawa. Enjoy!
Spring is always wonderful to welcome. Your walk with the video and photos were beautiful. Snowdrops are so pretty!
I feel carried away by the Ottawa River and Hogβs Back Falls into Spring! Nice bringing back the AlexNote about the Snowdrops (-:
Beautiful article, beautiful photos and an AlexNote revisited!
Glorious Spring! I love it.
