Watching the drama unfold this morning after your Twitter/X post was startling. Thank you for bringing that particular issue regarding the activists to the front of the line.
Itโs such a maddening situation that those who try to protect us are put in jail but not a single person who deliberately kept the knowledge about climate change from us, and instead funded climate change denial campaigns, has ever been prosecuted. Iโm not a fan of the road blocking campaigns, but the absurdity of it all shows the failing of our system.
I was a little behind the news of the flooding in Spain, but it didnโt take me long to work it out from your Noteโฆ๐๐๐
Re this post, it always astounds me how people speak to each other onlineโฆso it makes me so appreciate your tone here, which with a touch of irony simply reflects the facts, with a quiet wonder underneath. And I feel pretty certain you wandered off for a coffee, or some natural beauty and kept your sweet smile intactโฆ
And that is the reflection we need so much right nowโฆThank you, Alex! ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป
Your picture from yesterday appeared on the front page of my NYT today. But your facts and simple description of what climate change can and IS doing to our planet is far different from their interpretation. True, I skimmed the long article inside the paper, but the words โclimate changeโ never appear. Iโm so disappointed in their coverage compared to your non-histrionic piece. You write so beautifully
about what is happening to our planet. Please keep smiling and drinking your coffee โ๏ธ but do continue to give us the FACTSโฆ ๐ฉ
II really do live in a bubble. It is only in the last 10-15 years I have realized that many people do not understand irony and many are very concrete and abstract comments seem 'silly' to them. One of the reasons I try to listen first, so I know better how to communicate. Strange obvious lesson to learn so late in life. I think it is another reason that I haven't found social media attractive. I'm looking forward to exploring your stack.

These devastating climate events continue to worsen all over the globe.
No one is safe from the effects.
Itโs so frightening that some canโt accept the reality.
Hence, kill the messenger.
Thank you for taking the risk as the messenger.
Iโm not thrown in jail but some young people have now to spend up to five years in jail just for warning us against events like this.
The cars mangled on the flooded streets of Spain was a sad but powerful message!
Sad and with a better warning system in place the number of deaths should have been lower.

Interesting to read about the activists and the real culprists.
And deeply concerned about those people involved in Valencia/Spain.
Thanks for all.
