Good morning and Happy Eastern, Alexander.

All your photos give a nice feel of the environment you walking through. I think that the sunrise photo is awesome. And the Cattail plants skirting the water's edge, is also a wonder of nature. Their rhizomes are edible and evidence of preserved starch grains on grinding stones suggests they were already eaten in Europe 30,000 years ago. There are amazing more Cattail uses on Wikipedia to read about, if one is so inclined. I loved the experience you described with the birds, squirrel, ice crystals, and Blue Mer. I wonder if there is some salt left in the soil from the(Old) Sea? And yes, building smarter in the future with nature in mind is a must. Thank you for this morning walk . . . (-:

So much to learn about peat bogs and city planning. It sounds as though it’s a wonderful place to meander and enjoy nature. Coyotes are making a comeback here. Seems they have learned how best to coexist with us. So far they are staying away from the busiest parts of our island. Looking forward to the next post.

Loved this latest article in The Planet but I’ve loved each one to date. This one’s longer, always a plus! So much wonderful information in today’s writing! Very interesting facts about peat lands & bogs as I’m unfamiliar about this. We don’t have them in the US South. Looks lovely! The history in Canada & The Netherlands & city planning is intriguing & the photos are wonderful, what an adorable squirrel! Thank you for sharing your beautiful day, I loved it all & love The Planet!

Happy Easter Alex.

Thank you for taking me on your walk this morning - a virtual trip but I’d love to have seen those ice crystals- and a coyote but from a distance !
