The library of Mar-a-Lago, with its centuries-old British oak paneling and rare first-edition books, has become an unlikely refuge for Donald Trump. Here, amidst the luxury, he retreats not to read but to seek consolation in the news and images on his smartphone.
Yet, the news offers little comfort. As Trump contemplates his campaign against Kamala Harris, the media contrasts her vibrant rallies in swing states and the empty seats he faced during his recent event in Bozeman, Montana.
The Bozeman rally was fraught with challenges from the outset. His plane was forced to make an unscheduled landing in Billings, Montana. He thought he would get away with blaming it on mechanical issues. However, the truth soon emerged: the plane couldn't land at Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport because of $12,000 in unpaid bills from the 2020 election cycle.
The airport made a terrible decision; how dare they blame him for not paying his bills? Did they realize how bad such an accusation is for a presidential candidate? It necessitated a two-hour drive to Bozeman, setting a tone of disarray and frustration.
Upon arrival, the rally faced further setbacks. Celine Dion's song from the movie Titanic, My Heart Will Go On, was played, and her management team was quick to publicly announce that the use of the material was unauthorized and that Celine Dion did not endorse it.
Eventually, Lara Trump came to help, but that didn't go well either. She said, "We don't give a damn about a letter from Non-American Celine Dion. I'll sing the song myself. No one can stop this Titanic". But then the radical left quickly pointed out that the Titanic metaphor may not have been the best choice of words; it is the best-known exception that big ships can be stopped. They can sink into the depths of the ocean.
Scrolling through social media sites, Trump learns about a New York Times/Siena poll that adds to his despair. The poll shows Kamala Harris leading by four percentage points in the crucial swing states of Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. These numbers weigh heavily on Trump as he paces the library, reflecting on the stark contrast between his current struggles and recent triumphs.
Trump strides up and down the shelves of unread books in his library, his thoughts going back just three weeks ago, when he was the star performer at the Republican National Convention. He had survived an assassination attempt, proudly displayed his ear bandage, and was sure he would defeat his older opponent.
He searches YouTube for videos showing him as the visionary leader who inspires admiring fans. But once it stops, YouTube follows with other videos, and each shows other crowds jubilantly celebrating the newly found optimism of a different campaign; no more aging Joe Biden, but a dynamic, even youthful new candidate and her running mate. He is now the old man, hiding in his luxury palace while she steals the limelight.
Trump scans the news on other social media channels and finds only more photos of enthusiastic crowds cheering for Kamala Harris. It can't be true; he is the best, leading in the polls, and was supposed to win the election. This is unfair, and those crowds must be fake. He opens his account on Truth Social and types in his patented capitalization style:
"Has anyone noticed that Kamala CHEATED at the airport? There was nobody at the plane, and she 'A.I.'d" 'it, and showed a massive 'crowd' of so-called followers, BUT THEY DIDN'T EXIST! She was turned in by a maintenance worker at the airport when he noticed the fake crowd picture, but there was nobody there, later confirmed by the reflection of the mirror like finish on the Vice Presidential Plane. She's a CHEATER. She had NOBODY waiting, and the 'crowd' looked like 10,000 people!
Same thing is happening with her fake 'crowds' at her speeches. This is the way the Democrats win Elections by CHEATING - And they're even worse at the Ballot Box. She should be disqualified because the creation of a fake image is ELECTION INTERFERENCE. Anyone who does that will cheat at ANYTHING!"
He posts it, rereads it, and smiles. This message will set the record straight. He knows the importance of big crowds and always wins by crowd size. Crowd size proves he is bigger than Obama or Martin Luther King were in their days. And since he is the best candidate, it can't be that she attracts larger crowds. She must be cheating, and that needs to be said. Everything about her is fake, especially now that she suddenly turned black.
But his positive mood is suddenly disturbed again by a post on his own social media network. The Harris campaign has shared a video of the Air Force 2 arriving in Detroit, with a vast crowd enthusiastically welcoming her. The text reads: "In case you forgot @realdonaldtrump: This is what a rally in a swing state looks like."
Angrily, he paces up and down the library. How dare they mock him. He should have been the president right now, but instead, he loses his audience. He would like to campaign again but doesn't dare to go to the swing states. Just imagine the crowds would be smaller.
So he stayed away for a week and gave a press conference. That one was great. Never mind the 162 lies and distortions that the lying extremely left fact-checkers of NPR had found. And there was his successful visit to Bozeman. Briefly, he sinks on a soft sofa. But was it? He thinks about the long drive after not being allowed to land, the far smaller crowd waiting for him than at any of Kamala's events, and the polling numbers sliding away.
On his golden-colored sofa, he scrolls further through social media. More bad news: the Financial Times reports that Kamala Harris is more trusted than Donald Trump on the U.S. economy. How dare they! It was never like that. Americans trusted him as a successful businessman to handle the economy. A week ago, he wrote on Truth Social: "This is the Trump stock market because my polls against Biden are so good that investors are projecting that I will win."
But then the market crashed, and he quickly posted: "Stock markets crashing. I told you so!!! Kamala doesn't have a clue. Biden is sound asleep. All caused by inept U.S. Leadership!"
Twenty-four hours later, the markets rebounded, and he remained silent on his own Trump media outlet. Speaking of which, he checked the stock market performance of Trump Media & Technology Group Corporation. In the past three months, it has lost nearly half of its value.
He realizes he can't beat the Harris/Walz formula for success and might go to jail. Will he have to wear an orange suit? What will the food be like? He has already inquired about these kinds of details. The best thing he can do right now is to build up ever more grievances and complaints about the unfairness of it all. All these objections should invalidate the election; his backup scenario is set to play out the day after the elections. He's confident that he has all the right people in place. Who cares about votes if you can win by other means?

Nothing pleases me more than to know this evil cartoon character's plots are foiled - again and again. 🙂
Great, this « scenario » on the workings of D.Trump's mind !! 👌👍
On the reflection of a man who is no longer anchored in reality, but in his imagination, in his deep intellectual dishonesty and his victimization syndrome!
Bravo for this truly captivating description, Alex !!
