Brilliant! People usually admire paintings but if you want to see what’s in an artist’s mind and heart, look at their drawings and sketches. I remember making copies of Leonardo’s pen work in silver point on gesso.. The speed of lines and rhythm ( gestural drawing) he used in the making were spectacular. It’s like a first impression. Sketches don’t lie.
