This has got to be my favorite essay of all so far. So many touch points. I didn’t want it to end.

Gisteren in België de warmste 30 maart sinds de opmetingen. Het maakt me echt ongerust.

Another interesting newsletter. I really enjoyed reading it. Thank you!

I remember that alexnote well. Not necessarily because of the snowdrops, but because of the notes in the books. The notes/postcards/special bookmarks I found when sorting through my books - so many memories! I'm going to miss doing that.

And, thanks for making me check about snowdrops and their status in Switzerland. We are allowed to pick them, but only 5. I had now idea, but never had the urge to pick them either. I'm learning so much.

As for your question, I love winter - always have, but spring is also one of my favorite times whenever it happens. Right now it's too warm during the day for March. However, I will enjoy my long bike ride in shorts and a t-shirt. I do remember proper winters and then nature waking up in April - my favorite month of the year. I definitely preferred that. Now we just have to do everything we can to stop climate change or why not reverse it - while we're at it.

Your note and sketch on the snowdrops was lovely. Luckily I could enlarge it to read. So far the flowers here seem not to be on an earlier schedule in my yard. I noticed other yards with daffodils blooming and mine are just emerging. We may even have snow flakes on Thursday, which is not a usual occurrence here in April. The spring has wreaked havoc on many parts of the US: numerous tornados and severe flooding. They seem to be worse this year and with climate change may be the norm. Thanks again for your wonderful writing.✒️
