Thank you for this beautiful sunset picture. Looks like a lovely spot and how fitting that the lake is heart-shaped.
I definitely got overwhelmed by the news from all over the world and the title of your newsletter is very fitting - what about "All those left behind". Only so much I can do from here. There's money, there's helping friends in need, there's making sure I don't support the party who thinks that people should be left behind because we need to protect our values, wealth and way of life and my vote in a local election underlines that. What I don't understand is why people don't come together to make this world a better place for everybody. I'm having a hard time dealing with all the division that is created and it has gotten much worse during the pandemic. And I'm saying that from the safety of my home - I can't even begin to imagine what life must be like for those left behind.
Thank you for sharing your thougths and that lovely sunset.
Most of them didn't stay behind, they were abandoned. I don't know what's happened to my country. I never thought we would leave Americans behind, or leave Afghans that helped us. And now the women and young girls have no hope of a decent life. π
Your words reflect the thoughts & feelings of so many as we have watched these events unfold. History will record these few days for posterity but it cannot encompass the depth of human suffering theyβve brought to the victims. The feeling of helplessness becomes a heavy burden but itβs an opportunity to reach out & help where we can & to whatever degree. Many small efforts combine to make a big difference.
Beyond that, adding voices to influence those with power to make needed changes in both arenas is vitally important. Activism & voices in unison demanding change must get stronger to pressure politicians & leaders to commit to serious, steadfast, immediate change.
Thank you for using your voice & for this incredible photo that seems to speak for itself.
The news has been overwhelming from the destruction of hurricane, Ida, Afghanistan, the uptick in COVID cases, and the shootings throughout the States.
Petitions are signed, calls and emails made to get action on climate change and it feels as though it all gets sucked into quicksand and little action happens. Perhaps with all the destruction seen this summer action will finally happen. Too often legislation is blocked by social interests.
Thanks for that lovely photo. No matter how terrible the news is we can always find some beauty in nature.
βPeople, I know it was a heart wrecking day. π But I am here to remind you, behind every event, thereβs the infinity of time and change, and a beautiful new possibility. Keep trying! Love you! Natureβ
Sadly are repeated stories. In addition to the uncontrollable and unpredictable, other shadows unfold along the way. Always. On the road to change, we have to learn to question. Our hope and resilience become a challenge.
Simple things are perfect. But we are not.
How far we can go?

It would be so lovely and so welcome to have even 24 hours without breaking news of a climate crisis (I no longer say climate change), political upheaval or other disruption to our lives. It was surreal to see Ida change the direction of the Mississippi River. What a gamut of emotions in the stories of those rescued and those left behind in Afghanistan. Your sunset photo was beautiful and so welcome.
Please remember Trump wouldnβt have gotten anyone out not one Afghan and he wouldnβt of cared about the Americans. We have to be thankful that approximately 125,000 people an hourly flights were removed from an impossible situation

Yes, sad it is. π It's good to see your sunset photo . . .
Itβs a very sad day. But we must keep going, one step at a time, if need be! Thank you for your peaceful videos!

Yes. There is sadness. But beauty in nature that gives one the strength to face another day.
