Another wonderful Island Story! The video is simply gorgeous, a treasure island of your own. Idyllic village, exquisite nature, a place anyone would want to escape to. I only dream.

Great text as always, wonderful details that make these stories so charming & interesting to read. The special treatment you give your photos like these is so fun! Haven’t seen it in a while, love it.

Thank you for sharing your lovely morning & hope you got home before getting drenched!

Thank you. Yes, I just made it in time, minutes later the heavy rain started.

Absolutely beautiful video in spite of the threatening dark skies!

Thank you, I was home just in time before the rain. That’s why there are no pictures from the way back after I was at the dune lake, I had to keep walking.

Tranquillity always wrapping the Story and the Island. Details to keep, moments to share.

Excellent work, Alex.

Walking along on your Sunday morning.

Such wonderful peaceful earthly sights in contrast to the ominous turbulent darkening skies. A lovely reminder to pause in gratitude for the simple blessings in life.

That’s what nature is for, to pause in gratitude (and nature has many more functions)

So much to like about this post. Love the drawing effect (whatever it's called) you put on the two pictures. New Dutch words - yes please! Making fun of the Dutch calling Holterberg a mountain - obviously, it's in my genes. Also fascinated by the polders. Not a concept that's known too well in Switzerland. Learning about toads - what's not to like? And this is a beautiful example.

And that video, just stunning. Thank you for sharing. And a beautiful Sunday to you as well!

(P.S.: Highest point in my canton is 908m and the highest peak is 872m - it's in what we call the flatlands ;-))

I once looked up the country with the lowest highest point: the Maledives. And the country with the highest lowest point: Lesoto
