I live in a Sanctuary State and Sanctuary City. Governor J. B. Pritzker let Trump & cohorts know, to get to us, they will have to go through him. My kind of warrior lawmaker.

Alex, this is a refreshing and clever idea! For me, itβs the perfect way to NOT pay attention to the current awful news (via papers, newscasts and βbreaking newsβ posts that make their way onto my phone all day). I am going to try to come out if my funk by posting pictures from this
past yearβΌοΈπ Last week was tough, but now that Iβm on a self-imposed βnews blackoutβ, itβll be fun for me to browse through my 7,000 photos (thatβs not an exaggeration)!
Hi Anne, looking forward to see them. I fear that somewhere in the project, around the literary darkest day of the year, I have to mention the darkest day of the year in this project. But posts will be hopeful until about 21 December. Letβs just pretend November 5 wasnβt on this yearβs calendar.
Oddly enough, the darkest and shortest day of the year has always been my favorite dayβΌοΈ I like βbeing cozyβ with Cadbury curled up on the couch in the darkness of winter. π₯Ά (Maybe itβs because Iβm a November babyβ¦) Iβm sure youβll not get another reply like this one. And, yes, letβs just toss out 05 November from this yearπ
I can live with 364 days for this year. So this time itβs not the stolen election but the stolen election day. I love all seasons, itβs one of the attractions of living in Scandinavia because they are so extreme there.
To live happily, do you have to live in Northern Europe?
Perhaps it is because of this famous work-life balance that is favored?
Or nature (in its pure state) protected and so close to the inhabitants...
Or be able to fully enjoy the rhythm of truly different seasonsβ¦
Having often been to Sweden during a (former) period of my professional life, and in all seasons, I really appreciated this rhythm of life in harmony with nature. ...π
(and I also learned to stop complaining about the cold π₯ΆβοΈπ...: valuable lesson, for me as a Parisian!)
« I don't want to waste my good mood every day on Mr Trump; life is too short. I won't ignore him, but I want to enjoy life and share that with you »
Well said, Alex!! ππ―
There are so many overwhelming subjects, at all hours of the day and night... that can permanently disturb our thoughts, our lives and turn us away from our own personal paths, so essential to our balance.
Youβre right, life is short!
Remaining lucid on the World, on its road that advances like a Β«rode rollerΒ Β» is certainly very important!
But taking advantage of the beautiful things (small or big) that surround us on a daily basis, engraving them in our memory as landmarks, training us to remain « positive »... allows us, I think, to pursue our own path as serenely as possible, keeping our hopes and deep convictions.
Thank you for all your sharings, these precious moments of exchange and your generosity! πββοΈποΈ
Such a good idea and something I would prefer to see than todayβs depressing news glut.
Thanks for this.
What a great idea! And fun!

Thank you, Danièle
Ambitious undertaking. Looking forward to it.
Love the Paris pictures as I can now say "I've been there".
