Reading this, seeing it in black and white is more sobering than what we already know and see with our own eyes.

This is a stunningly insightful analysis of what America is currently living with and must use as a guide to prepare for the future.

To see those in upper echelons of business comply with authoritarianism is infuriating but gives stronger respect and appreciation for those who’ve held firmly to principles and character unlike their counterparts.

“The atmosphere among American executives is well documented: privately critical, publicly silent, carefully present at the right events. This is not courage under pressure.” We see you, we know who you are and we will not forget.

Your vast knowledge and deep perception of these historic ‘strongmen’ and how you impart these details is brilliant. This series is vitally important and I thank you for the time and work you put into these articles.

Resistance from everyone from regular citizens to business powerhouses and those in political leadership is essential to put the darkness of fascism behind us.

Such fine studies in comparative analysis, Alexander. You might think about extending to book-length in future—or not. It is such a valuable aide memoir in its present form, and you are already writing up a storm. I really enjoy your insights and international perspective.

Thank you for the eye-opener. When you've pointed each dictatorship's methods, it falls into place.

It's also quite scary contemplating Trumpf's demise/ downfall/ whatever. (Please don't tell me he's immortal)

And my poor country - of my birth - just sinks into the abyss.

It is all sobering.

I need another walk please!

Trump’s mob-ish huckster reputation has lead to a mediocre life at best. Ascension to the Presidency?... Sullied in the first term; corrupted in the second term beyond all norms this country has ever witnessed. Surrounding himself with people who share the same ideology and playbook as Roy Cohn and the leaders you’ve written about here. Together the dismantling has begun.

Trump's targeted abuse of power is through people's health - Medicare, Medicaid, SNAP (food), vaccines (rulings, unavailability), education (funding), etc with special emphasis on children.

How low can you go???

No matter how they’re following the “Plan”… I can’t help thinking that Iran has a bigger plan for dealing with Trump. (And it quite possibly could involve those pesky Epstein files too?) This chapter in history may have a more twisted ending than anyone expects.

Not since Mark Twain coined the phrase "The Gilded Age" in the 187O's with Robber Barons like Rockefeller, Carnegie, and Morgan, have we seen such wealth inequality vs poverty; political influence with out and out corruption.

Trump and his oligarchs have certainly "gilded the lily", if you will, on this current elite business class with monopolistic dominance, power and influence, taking our privacy and data with them. The grift is on.

I believe, however, the shine is coming off; America is ready for a "New Deal" in whatever form it comes. Politicians like Momdani are opening eyes. A change is on the way.

I hope I understood your very well written article, Alex. Gracias.

Communism, Capitalism, Oligarchy are very different on paper, but not in practice.

Think Stalin / Mao who claimed communism but were fascists in practice, and the current Democracy in US/International forums from Thiel (German), Fink/Bezos (American), Musk (Apartheid SA), Netanyahu (Hashkenazi Israeli from Eastern Europe...Poland I think), Milei (Argentina) who are advocating Oligarcy and indentured slavery for the un-rich of all countries.

...And now half of the Democratic West is looking at a self admitted Oligarch (Putin) , a communist who rules as a benign fascist (Xi ) , and a theocracatist (Ayotallah)" to save itself from itself" and from its own megalomaniacs.

It's a crazy world.😅😅

Consider reading the book (not summaries) "Operation Gladio" by Williams to see where this all started back in the 1940s. It's so easy to predict trajectories after that, but it's a text book not a novel, and people aren't willing to do the work to understand the foundation.

It's available on Amazon Kindle.
