An excellent comprehensive global analysis of the water crisis. A capsule of how too much or not enough water, a direct result of climate change driven by human activity, is causing dire & imminent chaos to this planet & its inhabitants. The news cycles prove daily what many refuse to see. Immediate & drastic changes must occur worldwide to keep our planet viable & livable.

A brilliant piece, well conceived & clearly presented. Well done!

In Switzerland we definitely behave like water is an unlimited resource. And there's a lot of dependency on hydroelectric power. My area has three of the largest rivers in Switzerland and they then flow into the river Rhine - so we are in a very privileged situation. It does make us forget about the importance of water and as you point out that access to clean water is a human right. It's just there and we just fill our water bottles at one of the MANY public water fountains.

All those examples you list and those places I've visited myself. It's so sad to see. Sad also or mainly because the people in charge don't usually link the droughts/floods to climate change. I'm baffled as to how you could not link the two. Then again the past 18 months or so have shown us how little trust certain people put in science and that scares me most of all.

Thank you for these examples and for highlighting the importance of sustainable water policies.

Accurate analysis made, as always, with the simplicity of facts.

โ€œThristy steps drag distances to reach the coolness of uncertain water.โ€ This are the written words of a friend who constantly live the experience of humanitarian work around the world.

We need to reach the absolute consciousness of the dramatic reality. We canโ€™t erase the past

but we can write the future.

We are the Water drops on the wave. We must change the tide.
