I recently stumbled upon a relic from the past: an old photograph capturing a street in Zierikzee in 1903. Intrigued, I tried to locate the exact spot where an unknown photographer had taken it. It was easy to find in the Meelstraat (the "Flourstreet"), but replicating the photographer's angle proved challenging; different times, different lenses.
Yet, when compared side by side, the result is fascinating. Remarkably, Zierikzee seems to have frozen in time for over 120 years. Look at the first houses on the right; there is hardly any change.
