I hope you are all doing well. Today's newsletter is a bit different than usual. It seems I've caught the flu or something equally unwelcome, and since my body takes a pause, so must my words for a few days.
Without my usual writing, I wanted to share a photo of Luna, who seems to sense somehow when I'm under the weather.
I often feel that I'm her humble assistant to all her wishes; opening the door to the cellar is lately her favorite request, without ever being interested in really entering after the dozens of times a day I give in to her scratching and crying in front of the door.
But these days, our relationship has changed; now that I navigate through sniffles and a foggy head, Luna has become my attentive caretaker. There's a certain magic in how Luna responds to my unspoken discomfort, offering warmth and friendship and sleeping on top of me at night.
It led me to delve into the fascinating science of a cat's intuition. As it turns out, cats, with their heightened sense of smell, can detect shifts in our health. They adjust to our moods and emotions, creating a unique bond of companionship. Cats often become more clingy and attentive when their caretaker is ill.
